US Coast Guard Cabin Motor Launch

This boat was built sometime between 1945 and 1955, designed as a general utility boat for the Coast Guard for light work, lighthouse servicing, and occasional rescue runs. The restoration project included targeted plank repairs, but the bulk of the work was on a new deck, a new cabin house top, and new cockpit sole. The original design used plywood and canvas. We opted for marine plywood, Xynole fabric, and a durable polyurethane compound to achieve a classic look with a longer life. We also gave the boat a full paint job throughout, and it now serves the Grand Traverse Lighthouse.
